In late 2007, I became friends with a refugee family from Togo. I continue to value my times of fellowship with them, from meals to school graduations. It is my privilege to serve alongside a team of ministry leaders, volunteers and community partners to assist refugee families in their transition to a new life in Dallas. I have a passion for work in the non-profit sector, specifically in helping families to financial stability and equipping them to thrive in a new culture. Micah 6:8 encourages me to pursue justice, extend kindness, and to be humble as I serve in Vickery Meadow.

In January 2007, I joined Northwest Bible Church after being resettled in the United States from a life in Refugee camps. After being rescued by the Lord from many wars, I was very hungry to find a church where I could belong and give thanks to God for His rescue. I joined the Northwest staff in 2012 as an Event Specialist, but I had a desire to help refugees more, and in 2014, God gave me the opportunity to serve refugees full time.

When my family and I returned to the United States after 16 years of missionary service in Turkey, I began teaching English to Afghan refugees as a volunteer. I was thrilled when God opened a door for me in the summer of 2020 to serve in Vickery Meadow. My husband Jose and I have two adult children who were born in El Salvador and grew up in Turkey. I enjoy cooking, walking my white Maltese poodle, and encouraging women to read God’s Word for daily encouragement.

I am grateful to have served as one of the Refugee Ministry Leaders at the Northwest Community Center since November 2018. I grew up in a Christian family and came to faith as a young child. A desire to serve God cross-culturally led me to Dallas Theological Seminary and eventually to Asia where my wife, Charis, and I served for several years. We have two children whom we love dearly and who are a source of much joy. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, rooting for the A's and Warriors, laughing, and trolling my friends.

I was raised in a loving Christian home and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was four years old. Growing up surrounded by numerous cultures, the Lord broke my heart for the nations during college. I am passionate about cultivating a heart in others that is missionally minded towards reaching the lost and connecting believers with those in their community to provide for both physical and spiritual needs. The opportunity to love and serve the nations in our backyard is a blessing!
