Refugee Care

English classes at the NCC are taught by teachers from Refugee Services of Texas. Classes are free, but there are some requirements.

Classes are held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00am - 12:00pm.

To attend class, you have to be enrolled with Richardson ISD. Please visit Northwest Community Center to find out the registration days.

Women are invited to join us for Women's Conversation Club. This is a great way to practice your English and get to know other ladies in the neighborhood. Limited childcare is available.

The Club meets on Fridays during the school year from 11:00am-12:15pm.

No registration is required for adults, but children must be registered for childcare.

Men are invited to join us for Men's Conversation Hour and Lunch. This is a great way to practice your English and get to know other men in the neighborhood. No childcare is available.

Meetings are Thursdays during the school year from 12:00 noon - 1:00pm.

Job Readiness Training will help you to learn about the American job market so you can approach your first job with confidence. The class also has some financial literacy components to introduce you to information related to banking and budgeting.

We can also assist you to write a resume, apply for jobs and practice for an interview - please contact us for an appointment.

Do you want to become an American citizen? This class helps you to study and to prepare for the citizenship test. The meetings are on Tuesdays from 12:30p.m. - 1:30p.m. at the NCC Lobby

Free notary services for refugees and immigrant families are available on-site at Northwest Community Center. By appointment. Please call 682-265-9618 or 214-396-6516 to schedule.

Bring a current government-issued ID to your notary appointment. Bring all documents that require notarization. Person or persons that are named in documents must be present for notary service. Our notaries are not lawyers, and are unable to help you to prepare, complete or understand legal documents.
